About Us

Sue and Zeke love glass. They are compelled by both the process and the result of glassblowing. They both started transitioning out of demanding careers (nonprofit leadership for Zeke and software engineering for Sue) during the pandemic, building a home flameworking studio. They appreciate the creative potential and functional qualities of borosilicate, but are most at home in the hot shop where the material can be explored at scale. The ongoing challenge of getting better (and going bigger) keeps them coming back.

They strive to make objects that capture the fluid and optical qualities of glass. They want to bring a bit of light and magic into peoples homes whether the item is a daily coffee cup, a vase for collecting spring flowers, or an art piece that evokes emotion.

The name “Saze glass” comes from combing their initials. You’ll have to ask us what our middle names are. We used to market our glass under the name “Corpse Flower Studio,” but it turns out that people didn’t know about the largest flower in the world and thought we were being needlessly morbid.
